I picked this book up knowing that I had a fair amount of meetings this month in which my message needed to be delivered appropriately. The author breaks down what makes a spoken message delivery successful in a way that a communication teacher, or Speech 101 professor might. He breaks down what makes some people's delivery sound unclear, unsophisticated, or just unpracticed, then offers seven skills to practice to make yourself more successful. This is a very practical, hands on approach for anyone wanting to make themselves sound a bit more precise. Though the concepts are pretty basic: be concise, be clear, don't blabber on, among others, each chapter gives great depth on how these skills can be improved. This is a great book of tips and skills to practice for anyone wanting to make themselves sound a bit more compelling.
