I was assigned a book about a man that I knew nothing about except that he helped make a product that I use everyday and recommend to everyone. Even though I have seen the movie, the book described things about the visionary that I would've never known. Drugs, dropping out and a reality distortion field that would make people do things they thought were impossible. It seemed like he was always ahead of the curve and didn't take what people said as truth especially if it wasn't something he wanted to hear. It was very cool to see the similarities between Steve and Phil from "Shoe Dog". Both had a relentless pursuit of excellence that made great products and a lot of money. One of the biggest takeaways I got from the book was to look at the seemingly impossible tasks as though they have already been completed. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn more about a crazy guy that believes in the impossible, cried a lot, didn't take showers, had weird diets and created a product the will live on even though he is dead.
